Enter your device model, e.g. iPhone 12, Samsung S22 etc
Check the version and build number match the version you have been requested to test
Did the splashscreen load? (first install only)
Did you get asked for permissions for notifications? (first install only) - all iOS devices and Android 13 and up
Did you get asked for location permission? (first install only)
App opens to Live Player, correct show data displays. Check this against the website
Check the display ads on live player rotate every 10 seconds
Go to Platform Plus, log out if you logged in
Check the version and build number match the values you have be provided.
Touching phone text prompts a phone call to +64 800 332383
Touching message text initiates SMS message to 5050
Play the live stream, check that it starts in a timely fashion.
Stop the live stream playing using any method - the red button by Listen Live, the miniplayer button above the menu, or the button on the full screen player if you have this up.
Start playing the live stream again, leave it playing during the next two sections of testing
Check the opinions panel loads and displays the same opinions as on the website - https://theplatform.kiwi/opinions
Check there are display ads after every two opinions (after the hero opinion at the top of the screen). Wait 10 seconds and check that the ads refresh.
Click an ad, check it opens a browser window to a page for the advertiser.
Open an opinion that does not have a Platform Plus logo. Check this matches the same opinion on the website
Click the share button, check that it opens the sharing dialog
Share an opinion with a colleague. Use any method.
Select another Opinion Topic from the selector below the Hero Opinion (NZ Politics, Opinion, Tremain). Check the list matches the list for the same topic on the website.
Verify you receive the Missed Out on this Content message
Check the podcast panel loads and the list matches the website - https://theplatform.kiwi/podcasts
Check there are display ads after every 2 podcasts. Check they refresh after 10 seconds.
Click on an ad, make sure a browser window opens on the advertiser page
Check the podcast shown is the podcast you selected. Check there is a display ad and that it updates every 10 seconds
Play the podcast. Make sure it starts in a timely fashion. If you are still playing the live stream, check the live stream stops playing.
Click Host Shows in the top menu. Check there are 4 hosts displaying, in order - Plunket, Laws, Devlin and Panapa.
Select a host show from the list, check Recent Clips against the list from the same host on the website. Check there are display ads every 2 clips on this screen and they rotate like all other display ads
Select a random podcast from the list, check that the same podcast you selected shows, check there are display ads on this screen and that they update. Play the podcast.
Select Full Shows from the top menu. Check for the Missed out on this content message (you should still be logged out)
While testing Opinions and Podcasts, did the live stream keep playing?
Select Platform Plus in the menu, check the panel loads and shows My Account Login, Join, Online Store and a red button Why Platform Plus
Click each of these links, check you are presented with the right form for each link.
Click the Why Platform Plus button, check the panel loads. Check the Get Started, Get Monthly amd Get Yearly buttons go to the Join panel and the link Click here to login goes to the login.
Check that a browser window opens and that you are taken to the Merch store on the website
Log in with your username and password. Check the Platform Plus panel now shows Profile, Subscription, Billing, My Downloads, Logout and Online Store. The Why Platform Plus button should not show now.
If you already had downloaded content (Full Show Replays or podcasts), check that they are still displaying in My Downloads
The next section is for testers with real accounts, Platform tester accounts do not work with these functions
Check for the Profile screen, you may have to log in again.
Check the subscription panel loads. You can do this either in the menu from the profile page or go back to the Platform Plus panel and select subscription from there
Check the billing panel loads
Check the listing is the same as the website
Click on an opinion without a Platform Plus logo. Make sure it is the opinion that you selected and that it matches the website
Click on an opinion with the Platform Plus logo, the opinion should display.
Select podcasts from the menu. Check the listing is the same as the website. Check each podcast shows a download link.
Download a podcast, make sure it downloads completely. After it has finished downloading, go to My Downloads and check it has downloaded. Then play the download podcast from here.
Pick a host, test the listing for the host is the same as the website, check the download icon is showing. Check there are display ads every two listings, check the display ads update approximately every 10 seconds
Scroll until you find a podcast with the Platform Plus logo. Select this podcast, test that it plays
Check you get a listing of Full Show Replays and that the host and show names are correct. Check there are ads every two shows, check the ads refresh approx every 10 seconds
Click a Full Show Replay, on the player screen, press the Play button. Check the replay show starts in a timely fashion.
Test the -/+10 second buttons move the show back / forward 10 seconds. Use the red dot to move the show player to a new spot, test that the show continues to play from the new location. Return to the Full Show panel.
Choose a show replay and download the show. Check this show appears in My Downloads. Use this show in the offline section next.
Check Live player, opinions, podcasts. You should see a screen saying you appear to be offline
Test you can see downloaded content. Test this downloaded content plays
Check Live player, Opinions, Podcasts return to normal
Connect a bluetooth speaker, your car, a pair of bluetooth headphones. Test audio content (live player, podcasts, downloaded content) plays through this device.
While on a WiFi network, start the live player or a podcast. Either physically leave the WiFi network or disable WiFi on your device, forcing the device to mobile data. Check the content continues to play as the network source changes
