Kiwi pole vaulter Olivia McTaggart joins Martin Devlin on IOS in what's been an exciting week for one of New Zealand's most promising young athletes.

McTaggart bettered her personal best by six centimeters last weekend, with a jump of 4.71 metres.

She chats to Marty about how she managed to improve by so much, how she balances strengthening her body while not gaining too much weight, how she motivates herself, and much more. McTaggart is competing at the Sir Graeme Douglas International in West Auckland on Thursday evening.

Martin Devlin is a veteran New Zealand radio and television broadcaster.
